SOLDOK, so this little bird isn't blue, but it's sooooo cute! We have lots of cardinals in our yard, so maybe that's what attracted me to this one. Or maybe it's because it's just so sweet.

What amazes me so much about these vintage linens, is the workmanship! I tried embroidery several times (and I'm not giving up yet), but I just don't have the talent and/or skill to make my stitches look like this. It's much easier to just find them and buy them than it is to make them. Plus there's still the crocheted trim to worry about. And that's something I can't do.

Those are beautiful vintages pieces. It often seems that there's a lot of love stitched in with these old pieces, too. :)

i love them all of them.
I agree....I can not make my stitches look so exact...or crochet the borders. It is much easier to buy them already done! I like the mystery that someone years ago sat down and hand embroidered them and they were saved through the years just for me to own!

You always seem to find the prettiest treasures (smiles). Dropped by to say Hello and see your pretties!!! I wish we had more items like these here in the islands but not to many people collect vintage or victorian. So really have to search and sometimes I get lucky and find some pretties. And finding buttons are scarce.

Hey Patricia! These are all lovely embroidery items. This art was big when my mother and grandmother were growing up and I have some wonderful items I received through being passed down. I cherish anything old as well...and am much more interested in the stories of how people lived their lives way back when.
