Sweet Angel

I have a very special friend in California. We only met a few years ago but grew to be very close friends from the very moment we met. We are kindred spirits. Every Thursday, we'd go out on our "play date" and have lunch, go antiquing, watch a movie, or just sit together at the park and talk, talk, talk. We're so close that we feel like we're sisters. As a matter of fact, people often ask if we are sisters. At first we'd explain that we are just good friends, but we got the question so often, that we just started saying, "Yes!" So, Colleen is my sister-friend. (She's my sister from a different Mr......& Mrs.) I wish we didn't live so far apart now.

Anyway, I wanted to give her a very special gift and I found it at Kathy's Cottage. I wanted to post this as soon as I received this adorable angel, lovingly hand made by Kathy because it is just soooo beautiful! But of course, I couldn't post it until after Christmas or Colleen might see it. So here it is!

As you look at the pictures, please keep in mind that they do not do it justice.

How cute is the detailing! Check out the tiny heart necklace made of bright white rhinestones.

Kathy made the little "love" sign, and added a key and locket on the heart-lace garland the angel is holding. I added a picture of Colleen and me on one side, and a little note on the other side so she'll always remember the year she received it. (Colleen is on the left, and I'm on the right)

I'm happy to report that Colleen LOVES this sweet little angel. It's beautifully made and can be placed in her stand, hung from a ribbon (not visible in the pictures), or sat on a shelf or bed. Presently, Colleen has her standing on her buffet that is in a very prominent place in her home.

Thank you, Kathy, for making such a wonderful memory for us.

Happy New year, everyone! May it be filled with many blessings and much love!

Patricia :o)

Hi Patricia, Kathy did a wonderful job and the angel is lovely! I love the charms she put on it. Your sister-friend will cherish this forever as much as she does your friendship. How wonderful for you both to have such a blessing together! blessings, Kathleen

How charming, don't you just love finding just the right gift for that special person, it is almost like getting instead of giving.
I could see in the background of your pictures a varity of what could be china painted items. And is that a chandalier hanging form the bird cage stand? I love that Idea, I have kicked myself for months because I passed up a bird cage and stand at a garage sale because it was more than I thought I should pay. What a dumbie. Thanks for the visit hope to see you again soon. TTFN
