As you read this post and view the photos, please keep in mind that I am originally from Southern California. We didn't get much snow in my little town of
Buena Park. Actually, we didn't ever get ANY snow. My little bird bath did manage to freeze over one year, but that was about it.
We're in San Antonio, TX now and we
actually get
weather here. Granted, our weather is usually one temperature, HOT, but last Tuesday sure wasn't! We had a cold front move through and the forecast was that we would get snow.
You can barely see the little flecks in the photo above, you have to look really hard (you may have to use your imagination here), but it is snowing in this photo!!
See!! Some proof on the patio table. Admittedly, most of the white stuff in the photos is
sleet and not snow. But to a girl from California...It's SNOW!!!
As I'm out in the "snow" taking photos of the yard, I snapped a couple of pictures of the first flowers of spring. This is a yellow daffodil that hasn't quiet opened yet.
White tulips amidst the snow.
My hubby's favorite flower... Iris. I think he likes them because his mom grows so many of them in Oregon.
Almost as soon as the snow came down, it started raining again. It was so cool while it lasted, though!
Sometimes, it's the little things that make me happy. This "Snow Day" did it for me.
Blessings,
Patricia :o)

I had to laugh at your excitement over the "snow!" I would have been the same way. We did get a ton of rain today and I loved it. Our patio roof is tin and it roared all morning. Fun...:)
My brother is in Texas...I am wondering if he saw any of your snow.
My girlfriend in Arkansas certainly did and was mean enough to send me the pictures! What a brat! :)
I think your snow is lovely!
Now I am off to show your site! Yep..LOVE them linens!
Hugs,
Mona
WAIT! What do you mean you have nothing on ebay?? :(
How neat, I'd love a bit of snow too.
Pretty signs of Spring. The Iris is a favorite of mine too...they remind me of Orchids. Hugs, Linda
Your jovial "almost snow" post is darling! Since I live in So Cal now I can see why you'd be excited. I grew up in a mountainous area that got lots of snow most winters so I don't miss it...not one iota...except for skiing...I ♥ skiing!
Thanks for stopping by to say hello today! I appreciate your comment on my blog!
Hope you've been having a nice weekend!

I am having a blog giveaway!
I love your blog, my mom always embroidered, I have things she did when she was a small girl(about ten) and I cherish them. I just dont know how to display some of the things, like dish towels.
Thank you for your wonderful blog.
Love,Debbie
Glad you found my Texas-Blogging Gals. Will get you on the next updated list.
Enjoyed a first visit here on your great blog. I'm a new follower for you. Embroidering is very special to me. It was the only "crafty" thing my mom enjoyed doing. She was so good at it.
Come see me at my personal blog, too, real soon!
LOVE YOUR PHOTOS!!!! they so capture that lovely winter to spring feeling :)
thanks for sharing your story on the first day of the giveaway. What a bummer about the plant and the empty spaces! another decorating plan foiled by back pain, arghhh! :)
Thanks for much for your sweet words and enthusiamover the giveaway - hope you'll come back today and enter!
Have a great day!

By the way - I love the post with the birds. they are SOOOO SWEET!
Thank you for your concerned comment on my blog after hearing about our wild weather in Melbourne last weekend - that is sweet of you to think of me! We have been hearing about the severe cold weather in the northern hemisphere too...that movie "The Day After Tomorrow" is looking like some kind of omen!
